Large-Scale Agricultural Irrigation Scheme
R2M supported a major UK agricultural business with the supply of Molecor MoPVC pipework for a significant irrigation upgrade linked to the construction of a new reservoir. The project required a highly reliable, efficiently installed pipeline solution capable of delivering long-term performance in a demanding, high-capacity irrigation environment. Molecor’s MoPVC pipe was selected for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, energy efficiency and durability.
The client initially approached R2M in October 2023 with an enquiry for 3,000 metres of 400 mm MoPVC across 12 bar and 16 bar pressure classes. Following design development, the requirement expanded substantially to approximately 9 km of pipeline.
Working closely with the customer, R2M provided detailed insertion-loss calculations which refined the final requirement to approximately 8.5 km of pipe. Due to the scale of the installation, logistics planning was critical: delivery would require around 25 articulated vehicles.
With coordinated logistics, consistent factory scheduling and close communication between R2M, Molecor and the client’s installation team, the project progressed ahead of expectations. Molecor MoPVC’s lightweight structure enabled fast handling and installation, supporting the client’s need for rapid deployment while maintaining exceptional hydraulic performance. The pipeline installation continues to contribute to a modernised irrigation system designed for long-term resilience and efficiency.
