Urgent Action Maintains Water Supply
In March 2024, R2M was called to support a contractor in Shropshire after initial excavation revealed that the existing valves on a key section of the water network were inoperable. The situation required urgent action, as a traditional shut-off would have left over 600 properties without water.
To resolve the issue efficiently and maintain supply, R2M coordinated the live insertion of a 4” AVT EZ Valve. Our installation partners were able to fit the valve directly into the live system without requiring a shutdown or cut-out, ensuring the water supply remained uninterrupted throughout the procedure.
The live insertion not only mitigated the immediate risk to the community but also provided a reliable long-term solution for the network. The project demonstrates R2M’s capability to deliver bespoke, rapid-response solutions that keep essential water infrastructure operational, even in challenging circumstances.
